In 2008, The band was awarded the "Creme de la Creme"
award by the Wedding Merchants Business Academy. They received the highest
marks from their brides for their excellence in performance and knowledge
of wedding receptions.
The bands clients include Coca-Cola, NC Arts Council,
City of Asheville, Katrina fund Raisers (with crowds over 4,000), The
Comedy Zone, National Endowment for the Arts, Make-A-Wish Foundation,
American Cancer Society, and the list goes on. They have also won awards
for their original music from the NC Songwriters Co-op.
The band officially came together and was formed in
2004. With the exception of Nathan, all were former members of other bands
through previous years.
Two of the members met through a mutual friend. After
finding that each had a love for music, they decided to get together to
"jam" sometime. Three of the members got together for this first "jam
session". It was magic!
"Not often do you get people that truly want to play
with each other," said one of the members. "Most musicians enjoy doing
their own thing and expect the rest to follow. That's not what makes for a
great band." For the first time in decades, Rick noticed a special mix of
talent.
Mike said he had a friend that was a great singer. How many times have we heard that one? "O.K.
Let's
get together sometime and bring your singer friend." When Payton showed up
to sing, little did some of the other band members know that this guy was
a trained professional. His training became obvious immediately.
The age difference has allowed the group to come up
with a mix unlike so many other bands. From Elvis to Incubus, Otis to
Green Day, The Temptations to Lenny Kravitz, Rod Stewart to Jack Johnson.
You name it. This group has it all.
Through their combined experience of playing in North
Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, these guys play
from funk to swing and everything in between. Beach music and classic rock
included.
Why such a wide diversity? Well, age difference did
play some part. However, Mike and Payton are professional dancers. In
competition and appearing in movies, dance is what motivated these guys.
Rick was an old southern rocker that married a disco lady. There was no
choice for them to play anything but dance music.
