Practice Makes Perfect

Just another manic Sunday (or was that supposed to be Monday). Time for the band to practice, again. This week we're in our small studio in Cashiers, NC.   We're adding to our song list this week. More classic oldies like "Come Go With Me, Just My Imagination,  Proud Mary," and "My Girl." Although most of the band is younger, the guys like to perform older songs to keep people dancing.

Here's one of those imponderables, "If practice makes perfect, and nobody's perfect, why practice?"

We're actually supposed to be practicing while I am writing this article. I'm just waiting for all the guys to get their equipment hooked up and tuned. I'm the drummer and this is my house, so I already have everything set up for me. Besides, I don't want to sit around for another half hour listening to guitars go "twang, twang, twang."

Our singer, Payton Laughlin (pictured at top) called in sick. Sure Payton, whatever. Actually, we do miss his voice. Many say he sounds just like Rod Stewart. He also has the style of John Foggerty mastered. Anyway, we'll catch him next time. Get better before the concert Payton.
