"Flooring for the band"

Live Music for Weddings, corporate, and
special events in the Carolinas

Every band needs a floor or stage to perform on. Whether it's a wedding reception in NC or other live music performance, the band has certain minimal needs that must be met. What is required? Here is a general idea:

The band must have a stable floor. If the event is outdoors, just rolling out some carpet on the ground for the band to play on is not enough. Nothing could be worse than the band  being in the middle of a song and having  their equipment suddenly topple over.

Band flooring should be solid and level. This can be accomplished, even though it may take a little extra effort on the part of a rental company during set up.

If there is already a solid floor, carpeting is nice. The drummer must have carpet under his equipment to keep it from sliding across the floor.

The amount of space needed is dependant upon the number of performers. TGI requires a minimum floor space of  100 square feet for equipment and musicians.

The band floor should be in the front of any event. It should be directly related to the dance floor, which also should be directly in front of the band.

Outdoor venues sometimes have Gazebo's or patios. These are great areas for the band, as long as the floors are solid and level. If staging has to be rented it is important that the company set up the flooring level. If there are any questions or concerns TGI can help to ensure everything is set up properly.
