Live Music for Weddings, corporate,
and special events in the Carolinas
Live music is special
anytime. Whether you in North Carolina in the mountains or at the beach.
You could even be in a coffee shop in downtown Atlanta. Now matter where
you go, live music has a flavor all its own. The band was able to perform
in a small town in North Carolina at a unique coffee house. Read about our
live performance here.
"When a cow
sneezes, does milk come out its nose?"
The band played live at Merrick's
Coffee House in Franklin, NC last Saturday. It was an opportunity to play
with friends and allow Franklin to have some live music that wasn't
bluegrass for a change. Although we do like bluegrass music, it's nice to
have something different.
Being in the mountains, music is a way of life.
Bluegrass has been around since, well, nearly forever. Mountain
people are great. Their music has a style its own. The musicians are
fantastic and very skilled. However, it's nice to have a little variety.
Franklin,
Waynesville, Bryson City, Sylva, and even Asheville has a very diverse
music culture. It can sometimes be difficult for musicians to find a place
to express their music. Especially is this the case if they don't play
bluegrass or country music. Live bands can be found just about anywhere,
but finding a live band that plays something of a different culture can be
difficult.
Merrick's Coffee House on Depot Street in Franklin
has live music on most Saturday's. If you don't play country or
bluegrass music, you might want to stop by and talk with them. Of course,
if you're into heavy metal or something along that nature, you probably
needn't waste your time.
They have had all types of music played there. Our
band plays a little of everything from funk to swing, oldies, classic
rock, and our originals. Other live bands have performed folk music and
even children's songs.
Of
course, the live music is great, but they also have great coffee. Their
pastries come from a bakery in Sylva and everything is organic (and very
delicious). And Lauren, in case you're reading this, thanks for the cherry
turnover.
