Dance floors for Weddings and other special events.

If you're going to hire a band for your wedding reception, private party, or corporate event, you have to have an area for people to dance. Why have a band at your wedding or event if you're not going to dance?

Dancing is  a big part of a wedding reception. The wedding ceremony is the formal part of the event. The wedding reception is where guests have a chance to meet the wedding party in a more relaxed atmosphere.

It doesn't just have to be a wedding or wedding reception for dancing. Street parties, private parties, corporate parties, and the list goes on, all afford the opportunity to dance.

Dancing started from time immemorial. However, I do believe it has come a long way from the first floors of dirt to hard floors. What kind of floor will you need for your event.

It doesn't really matter what type of event your having, be it a wedding reception or private party. What does matter is the floor. When the music starts and people want to dance, they need a floor that is conducive to dancing.

Carpet can present a problem when dancing. Although it may be short or a commercial grade, carpet does not allow the feet to glide or slide smoothly. Sometimes a toe or heel can catch, throwing the dancer off.

Grassy fields or dirt are not very good as well. Same problem as with carpet, only now you have an uneven surface to contend with. Putting carpet on the ground is not a good idea because the surface will not be smooth with the lumps of grass, etc, underneath.

Some facilities have tile or wooden floors. These are the best. Even if your wedding reception or event is outdoors, you can get a rental hard floor for dancing. These are installed on top of the ground in varying sizes, depending on your needs.

Patios are sometimes usable. However, use caution if they are brick or wood. The crevices between can sometimes hinder dancers.

If you have any street dancers (break dancers), they will DEFINITELY need a hard, smooth, clean, slick, surface. Doing "windmill's" is not fun if there are nail heads sticking up or when there are cracks in the floor. The same for those long legged ballroom dancers that need to glide across the floor.

When choosing a venue for your wedding reception or special event, consider the need for a dance floor. Especially if your hiring live music. When the band starts, people just can't help but dance. Especially when you book "The Great Imponderables".
